Vocabulary
A tableau vivant, French for 'living picture', is a static scene containing one or more actors or models. They are stationary and silent, usually in costume, carefully posed, with props and/or scenery, and may be theatrically lit. It thus combines aspects of theatre and the visual arts.
A storyboard is a graphic organizer that consists of illustrations or images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence.
A snapshot is a photograph that is "shot" spontaneously and quickly, most often without artistic or journalistic intent and usually made with a relatively cheap and compact camera.
A fairy tale, fairytale, wonder tale, magic tale, or Märchen is an instance of a folklore genre that takes the form of a short story.
PLOT:
In a literary work, film, story or other narrative, the plot is the sequence of events, where each event affects the next one through the principle of cause-and-effect. The causal events of a plot can be thought of as a series of events linked by the connector "and so".
5 Parts of a Plot in a Story
The parts of a plot in a story include the exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution.
The exposition:
It is the beginning of the story and prepares the way for upcoming events.
The rising action:
It occurs when the main problem or conflict is addressed with a form of action.
Climax or Turning Point:
The climax is the pivotal point in the story when the protagonist deals with the culmination of events. The climax often centers on the protagonist's most difficult challenge or bleakest moment, according to Pasadena City College.
Falling Action:
The falling action occurs immediately after the climax and details the consequences -- good or bad -- that the characters must deal with after the turning point of events. It leads up to the resolution and sets the stage for the final chapter of the story.
Resolution: End of the Story
The resolution tells us what happens to the characters after the conflict is resolved. All the loose ends are tied up, unless the author plans to write a sequel and purposely leaves room for further plot developments. Some stories have happy endings; others have sad endings. The resolution leaves readers with a sense of closure, so they understand the fate of the protagonists and antagonists.

Objectives: 1. Uses movement to explore thoughts, feelings, and roles. (TH.A.1.1.2)
Competency: A.The student can create a story with fantasy characters and tell it to the class. (TH.A.1.2)
Lesson: Students will be asked to work in groups to create a skit
of a fairy tale of their choosing. They will be given time to decide on
a fairy tale and then practice acting it out as group. Students will
then present their skits to the entire class.
Assessment: Students will be evaluated based on how well they
worked together in groups and individually their contribution to the
skit. It will not be required that each student play an active role in
the actual performance in front of the class, but
it will be necessary that each student contribute in some way. I will
be looking to see they understood the different components of the story
including a beginning, conflict/ middle, and end. I will also be looking
to see if the class understood the plot of
the fairytale and is engaged with the story. A group grade will be
assigned, however, if individuals did not contribute and it was clear
there may be consequences for their own individual grade.
