I agree with turnaround arts as its integration allows students to utilize their different skills. It helps students reinforce knowledge and help learn information not just from art classes, but also from other core content subjects. It allows students to learn in a fun and creative way further allowing students to express their passions and open up new ways of thinking. i agree with this video based on everything we've learned so far this semester, that art can be used to enhance learning in other subjects. Especially because in this video we hear from students themselves as they reflect on their own experiences with integrated art education, how they tend to learn more and better when arts education is involved. -Faith
I agree with these schools' efforts to integrate arts with other subjects, such as math and history. One of the teachers uses musical and performance arts to help her students learn about U.S. history, and it seemed like such an effective method of teaching where the students are excited and engaged. I think all schools should follow their lead and utilize art integration to teach all subjects.
This video discussed how art education complements the process of teaching and learning. That is, integrating art into the curriculum can benefit multi-faceted avenues. Students are receptive to arts-infused learning. I agree with the views expressed in the video. I think students have increased engagement when they have opportunities for active participation.
I agree with the views in this video because I feel that arts are really important to learning and can not only help students learn new skill sets but also help them learn more about the topics taught in school. I think the examples given in the video were great, especially the one with the kids singing to remember the multiplication rules. This helps make learning fun and more relatable to students. From experience, I know how much things like this help because when I was in elementary school I learned a song for the Spanish verb conjugations, and I still remember and use that song to this day. Also, I loved when the video discussed Hamilton and rap battles to teach history. I think Hamilton is a wonderful example of how arts can improve learning because it makes something daunting like history with facts and dates more approachable and exciting for students to learn. Overall, I love the ideas discussed in this video and hope that more schools continue to incorporate arts into their classes.
